3. Choose the Online Banking registration option

4. Follow the steps to create your profile

If you don't bank with FNB:

No problem! You can still register for a free FNB Online Banking profile to use PayPal.

1. Visit www.fnb.co.za

2. Click on “Register”

3. Choose “Register for PayPal for non-FNB customers”

4. Select “For Me” as opposed to “For My Business”

5. Select “I don’t bank with FNB.”

6. Fill in your personal details and ID number to complete your registration. You’ll use this profile to access PayPal services

Step 2: Link Your PayPal Account to FNB

1. Log in to your new FNB Online Banking account

2. Go to the top menu and click on “Forex”

3. From the drop-down, select “PayPal Services”

4. Click “Withdraw from PayPal”.

5. In the side menu, click “Link PayPal Profile”.

6. Enter your PayPal login details when prompted. It must match the one used for your PayPal account.

7. Authenticate and give FNB permission to access your PayPal. Your PayPal account is now connected to FNB.

8. Once linked, you’ll return to the withdrawal screen.

Step 3: Withdraw Money from PayPal to Your Local Bank Account

1. While still logged into FNB Online Banking, go to Forex → PayPal Services

2. Click “Withdraw from PayPal”

3. Enter the amount you want to withdraw (in USD)

4. FNB will show the exchange rate and any fees

5. Agree to the terms and conditions

6. Log in to your PayPal account to authorize the transaction

What Happens Next?

1. Go to the PayPal Website – www.paypal.com/za – and click “Sign Up”

2. Choose Personal Account or Business Account, then click Next

5. Click Agree and Create Account

How to Verify Your PayPal Account in South Africa

Once your PayPal account is open, the next step is verifying it, especially if you plan to receive payments and withdraw money to a South African bank account.

While linking a credit or debit card is not strictly required to open your account or receive money, it is required to verify your identity and remove sending/withdrawal limits. It also allows you to complete the verification step when linking to FNB’s PayPal services.
